Kids and Teens 519 is a group that seeks to minister to kids between the ages of 5 and 19. Their primary model is through after-school care. Volunteers use an apartment in the complex that is designed as a study area. Here they offer assistance with homework, provide snacks, and offer short Gospel messages to the kids between 3:00 and 5:00 in the afternoons.
The group also does community events - mostly as a way of introduction and to draw kids into the ministry program. The group expects to see some adult conversions - mostly because parents will see the church cares about their kids and will want to know why.
Again, the ministry has found that some complexes will be willing to provide the facility since it is a “value added service” to the complex residents.
